About MSTrIPES

Currently, tiger reserves execute law enforcement and ecological monitoring activities on a periodic basis, yet the generated information is often not accessible to managers in a structured format to facilitate informed decision-making within an adaptive management framework. To address this gap, the “MSTrIPES” platform has been designed, utilizing modern technology to aid efficient patrolling, evaluate the ecological status, and mitigate human-wildlife conflicts inside and outside of the reserves.

Modules

The MSTrIPES program utilizes Global Positioning System (GPS), General Packet Radio Services (GPRS), and remote sensing to acquire data from the field, create a database by employing contemporary Information Technology (IT) based tools, analyze the data through GIS and statistical tools to draw conclusions that enable tiger reserve managers to effectively manage their wildlife assets.
